This simple rib hat is a great basic for everyone's winter wardrobe... baby, boys, girls, teens, men and women!
Use any DK (US light worsted) yarn to knit this ribbed pixie hat
Turn up the rib for a fitted hat with a double layer cuff, or wear it unfolded and tall for a young contemporary look.
The decorative decrease adds interest to this ribbed pixie hat.
This simple knit is a great project for newer knitters, and a relaxing knit for experienced knitters!
Separate detailed instructions are included to knit this hat either FLAT on a pair of SINGLE POINTED needles / or IN THE ROUND on DPNs

The hats samples shown here have been knitted with 3 differenet DK yarns
Debbie Bliss Rialto DK, Sirdar Cashmere Merino Silk and Sirdar Snuggly DK 100% acrylic
As this hat is knitted in rib it requires a smaller needle than the standard size recommended for DK (US Light worsted) yarns. This smaller needle size will give you a neat rib with elasticity and memory (it will bounce back). The hats sizes are calculated using this smaller needle

0-3 months (3-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-9 years, 10-12 years, Teen/Adult S, Adult M, Adult L)
Due to the elasticity of this rib structure, the hat is narrow when lying flat and stretches for a snug fit. The pixie point detail looks it's best when this hat fits between the flat-to-stretched measurements. Just go up a size if you are near to the largest stretched measurement.

You will need:
40 (50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 135, 150) gm - Debbie Bliss Rialto DK
1 pair of 3.25mm (US3) single pointed needles / or DPNs
Darning/tapestry needle
The weight of yarn required is calculated using Debbie Bliss Rialto DK
When purchasing alternative DK (US light worsted yarns use the following yardage, meterage:
92 (114, 137, 160, 183, 206, 228, 251, 274, 308, 342) yards
84 (105, 126, 147, 168, 189, 210, 231, 252, 284, 315) meters
