FAQs

What skill level is this workshop?

This single workshop is suitable for new knitters and refreshers, but not absolute beginners.  If you can already work a simple knit stitch, and a simple purl stitch you will be able to knit cables with my help. Intermediate knitters are also very welcome.

Where is the event held?

The workshop will be held at Blackberry Cottage Studio, 25 Cuckoo Lane, North Leigh, Oxfordshire, England OX29 6PW  (just outside the historic textile town, Witney... a lovely place to visit)

Our cosy cottage studio is set within the grounds of Eynsham Hall in a creative and inspiring community of fine artists, designers and crafts people.  We love it here..... and we hope you do too!

The studio is a working design studio for most of the week,  but we open it up for some workshops throughout the month as we love to teach too!

Who will be teaching me?

My name is Linda Whaley,  I love to knit and I love to share this wonderful craft!

A little bit about me....... I am a knitwear designer and have worked in the fashion and hand knitting industry for about 25 years now.  I currently sell my designs as knitting patterns internationally via several online knitting supply sites.  I have also worked as a Rowan designer, with two Rowan books published in 2016.  My designs feature regularly in the press, including recent features in Let's Knit, Love Knitting For Baby and Knitting Magazine.  I have also taught knitwear design to BA Hons Degree students at art schools in the UK.

Is there parking at the event?

There is a customer car park just outside the studio so parking is easy and convenient.

Is there disabled access?

Both the studio and toilet facilities are on the ground floor, and there is room for wheelchair access within the studio. Please do get in touch to discuss if access is ok for you before booking your ticket.

What do I need to bring to the event?

All the materials that you will need are available to use during the workshop, so you won't need to bring anything with you. You are very welcome to bring your own needles if you prefer.  Knitting needles will be available to purchase at the end of the workshop if you have the knitting bug and would like to knit.. knit.. knit at home!

What about refreshments?
